Sea Turtle Experience
Join Experience Mex-ECO Tours to visit a secret paradise on the coast of Jalisco; host to a huge concentration of wildlife, including endangered sea turtles.
Join us on a day tour to learn the basics of sea turtle conservation, as well as taking part in a hatchling release, learning about other animal species in the area, and taking a relaxing boat ride through the mangrove lagoon surrounding the turtle camp. If you’re lucky, you’ll also get to see El Bebé, a huge crocodile that has been relocated to the nearby crocodile sanctuary. For a real treat, join us on our overnight camping trip! Participate in a beach patrol in search of nesting adult turtles, in order to collect and relocate nests to an incubation area near camp, decreasing the chances of predation by humans and other animals.
This is a once in a lifetime chance to see the working relationship between a small Mexican fishing community and the amazing creatures it works to protect; the Roca Negra Fisherman’s Cooperative relies on donations for the maintenance and development of this project, and a donation is included as part of your tour fee.
